Is America on the Brink of War in Venezuela? Cuba Sounds Alarm as U.S. Troops Mass in Caribbean
Tensions are soaring across the Caribbean as Cuba has issued a stark warning that the United States is orchestrating an attempted coup against Venezuela’s government, citing what it calls an alarming and unprecedented buildup of U.S. military presence in the region since the 1989 invasion of Panama.
According to reports, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez condemned Washington’s actions as a direct and aggressive threat to regional peace. “Removing the government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro would be an extremely dangerous and irresponsible move,” Rodríguez declared, emphasizing that such an act would constitute a clear violation of the United Nations Charter.
The U.S. has significantly escalated its military posture near Venezuela’s shores. This comes amid intensifying pressure from the Trump administration, which has repeatedly accused Maduro of leading the notorious “Cartel de los Soles,” or “Cartel of the Suns.” In August, the State Department announced a $50 million bounty for Maduro’s arrest, and just days ago, Washington officially designated the cartel as a foreign terrorist organization.
Despite these aggressive steps, President Trump has remained cryptic about his ultimate plans, publicly claiming he is weighing “all options,” from full-scale military intervention to brokering a negotiated exit for the embattled Venezuelan leader.
Now, with intel report that the U.S. may soon shift into a new phase of Venezuela-related operations within days, Havana is sounding the alarm. Rodríguez warned that both Venezuelan civilians and the armed forces stand ready to resist any foreign intervention. “We call on the people of the United States to stop this madness,” he said. “The actions of the American government could cause the death of countless people and lead to an unimaginable scenario of violence and instability.”
As war drums echo across the Caribbean, the world watches anxiously—wondering whether diplomacy will prevail or whether the region is hurtling toward a dangerous new flashpoint.
