Durov made the remarks in response to reports by American journalist Candace Owens, who claimed to have received insider information about the circumstances surrounding Kirk’s death.
According to Owens, a senior French government official approached her and revealed that Kirk’s killer had been trained in the 13th Brigade of the French Foreign Legion, a multinational unit that includes personnel from several countries. Durov, commenting on Owens’ disclosure, wrote, “After reviewing everything Charlie Kirk has ever said about France and Macron, I find Candace’s information about France’s involvement in his death completely plausible.”
